Companies have adopted sustainability in the last decade ensuring well-being for future generations, its first applications that have been recorded in the literature review are through continuous improvement, because this is a systematic approach to improving any type of process, products and/or services by finding opportunities to reduce and eliminate unnecessary activities, an example of this applied to sustainability is by reducing the consumption of energy, waste, materials among other activities. The objective of this research is a literature review and bibliometric analysis through the process of five steps data collection, data analysis, data visualization and finally, interpretation and results taking the Ebsco database with the keywords in title “sustainability” “Continuous improvement” and selecting refereed publications were found 3, 025 expanding the search between 2015 and the present, these analyzed works allow us to conclude that industrial engineering has had a relevant role in integrating continuous improvement with sustainability allowing industries to adopt social and environmental responsibility by improving their processes and as a result a bibliographic map was created with the relationship of similar articles linked by authors, keywords and other analysis.
